Judo Class Starting on Wednesday, July 15th!

Vandry BJJ Academy's new Judo class is starting on Wednesday, July 15th. Class will be weekly, every Wednesday from 8pm - 9pm. This will be a traditional Judo class covering fundamental Judo throws and takedowns. Class will be taught by Judo Black belt Geoff Dennis.

Vandry BJJ Academy's new Judo class is starting on Wednesday, July 15th. Class will be weekly, every Wednesday from 8pm - 9pm. This will be a traditional Judo class covering fundamental Judo throws and takedowns. Class will be taught by Judo Black belt Geoff Dennis.

Students will have the ability to become officially ranked in Judo thru USJI, which is the National governing body for the sport of Judo in the United States.

Geoffrey Dennis’s Judo Bio- Geoff began practing Judo in 1996 while working as a Police Officer in Denton, Texas under 5th Dan Mr. Finn Jones. After 9/11, Geoff moved to Seattle where he studied at Seattle Dojo (the oldest Judo school in the US) under 8th Dan, Mr. Kenji Yamata. In 2003, Geoff moved to Austin, Texas and began practicing with the UT Judo club under 4th Dan Mr. Stan Wentz. In 2005 Geoff began training under 8th Dan Mr. Zednik Matl in Round Rock, Texas. Geoff was promoted to Black Belt (1st Dan) in March of 2006.

Geoffrey is also a ranked three stripe blue belt under Prof. William Vandry in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. Geoff has been active in training and has sponsored the Texas Army National Guard’s Army Combatives Tournament at Camp Mabry, Austin Texas.
